[MB] Favour to ask

Hi everyone
I have a favour to ask, and this is *only* a request, so if it bothers
anyone, please just ignore.

On my website, there are links to Amazon.com, .ca, and .co.uk. I have
'Amazon Associates' accounts for each of these websites, which means
that if anyone makes a purchase on Amazon after following the link, it
tracks that the 'referral' came from my website, and I get credits.
The credits are very small, and I've never amassed enough to buy
anything, but it occurred to me that if I put the word out just as
everyone is doing their Christmas shopping, well... ;)

Now, in case you think I'm trying to amass credits so that I can buy
things for ME... wrong! I would use the credits to buy more
Modesty-related material, which will then be shared with everyone...
so it's the gift that keeps on giving, LOL. (And I already have a
surprise Christmas goodie planned, to share with eveyrone - I think
you'll like it!)
The link referrals are only active for one session - ie, if you start
shopping on Amazon one day, then go back the next day to finish the
purchase, *I think* you have to use the link again for the credits to
still work (you can just click the link, then navigate to your page).

And lots more goodies coming on the website, too.
Latest news: Guy acquired the 'missing' 1965 King magazine that
serialized the first book... the image is up on
http://www.modestyblaisebooks.com/media_magazine.html. (thanks Guy!)
And I'm still working on posting all the other graphics that have been sent in.

cheers!
Helen

I do this for others, haven't as a while, I have no issues with it. If you
had said last week, I bought about 70 quid's worth of books. I may get part
of the wife's Christmas pressie there (new digital camera), so I could do
that.

hurrahs!

And we should organise a Christmas dinner/get together, you know...

Ah, I always forget that other people are so organized with their
Christmas shopping that they've already done it by the time I even
think about it...

As for a Christmas get-together, I guess, once again, us non-UK-ers
are out of luck! (If only those credits would buy me a flight...)

BTW, for those who were on the walk, does anyone know any where I
would send a letter to Peter O'Donnell? Funny, all these years of
collecting the books having the website etc, and it had never occurred
to me to write to him... but now I really want to let him know how
much pleasure the books have given me.

cheers,
Helen

When I wrote to Peter, many years ago, I wrote in care of either The Evening
Standard or Souvenir Press. I'm sure either would be forwarded to him. I
will ask his son-in-law, who met us after the walk, which is the best
address for him or if there's a MB Ltd address. I know there used to be.
Peter responded to my letter using Modesty Blaise Ltd headed paper. I'll
have to find it and see what the address was. As I recall it was Fleet St or
that area (center of the UK news organisations).

I personally don't have his home address, nor would I want it. I feel that
would be an intrusion.

Well done getting that King graphic up so fast, Helen.

Looking forward to your Xmas goodie, and happy to link to Amazon for
shopping; need to go there right now in fact!

Toodle-oo!

Guy
