Breaking news!!!
From the BBC: "Ex-KGB man buys out Standard
Russian ex-KGB agent Alexander Lebedev is to buy the London Evening
Standard newspaper for the sum of £1. "
All right, he hasn't taken over rights the Modesty Strip, per se, -
but exciting stuff nonetheless. Although I wonder if Modesty would be
insulted by the low price?
You can read about it here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7841891.stm
and
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7844731.stm
(and the video clips are worth watching)
Thanks to Richard for the heads-up!
I've put it up on the news page of my site, where there's some other
new content, too.
http://www.modestyblaisebooks.com/news.html
I stumbled across a lovely piece about Modesty's influence by Canadian
author Vicki Delany, and in the course of trying to figure out where
on my website to put her interview, decided I'd start a new page with
interviews on 'How Modesty Influenced my Life'. If anyone would like
to contribute, please do so - even 1-sentence quotes are welcome! Just
let me know if you'd like your name attached or if you'd prefer to
remain anonymous.
cheers,
Helen
